Despite the Adelaide Crows horror start to the season, they went into last nights match against the Bye confident they can get the win, and put behind what was a nightmare start. The Bye who were yet to register a score this season, were hoping for their first win. The much anticipated match up between Rory Sloane and no one looked set to be an absolute cracker as things fell into place for the Crows. Winning the toss in ideal conditions packed with fans at Adelaide Oval. The siren sounded for the first quarter and the Crows immediately stomped on the Byes throat early gaining 100% of the possession. Unfortunately inaccurate kicking saw the Crows unable to tick the scoreboard. Going into quarter time locked it nil all. The Crows again attacked the bye in the second quarter but were still unable to find the goals and the frustration from fans and the coaches box had began. The match went into half time with the scores still tied at zero. Adelaide Crows fans screaming and asking for a comeback in the second half. In the third quarter things went from bad to worse for the crows and amazingly despite the ball always been the Adelaide Crows possessions, it would be the bye who would hit the scoreboard first. Taylor Walkers inaccurate defensive kick had managed the hit the post which gifted the Bye a point which and crucially the lead. The siren sound for three quarter time and most fans had seen enough and stormed out of the Arena, while those that did stay simply couldn’t believe what was unfolding. Not even a three quarter time spray from Matthew Nicks could spark a comeback in the last, allowing the Bye to pull off the biggest upset in AFL history and pinch their first win of the season. “We almost pulled it off against the Cats last week, but tonight was a horror show” said Matthew Nicks. “We heard Razor Ray running and chanting the Bye song and awarding nobody free kicks” said an Adelaide Crows fan. The Crows have a lot to think about as they prepare for next weeks clash against the Hawks.
