No Friday prayers in Srinagar Jamia Masjid; Mirwaiz, Hadi Moosavi put under house arrest

Srinagar: Anjuman Auqaf of Jamia Masjid, Srinagar in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has informed that for the fifth consecutive week, Friday prayers are not allowed at the Jamia Masjid in Srinagar by the authorities. According to Kashmir Media Service, the Anjuman Auqaf in a statement issued in Srinagar denounced the continued illegal house detention of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. The authorities feared that the Juma congregation at the historic mosque could turn into an anti-India and anti-Israel demonstration. Meanwhile, APHC senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq continued to be under house arrest for the fifth consecutive Friday, today. For the 4th consecutive Friday, Kashmiri religious scholar Syed Hadi Moosvi has been detained by authorities at his residence in Badgam and denied to perform his religious duties. This is purely happening to prevent people from raising their voices against occupation and Israel’s apartheid in Gaza.
