Andrew Luck Announces Return To Colts, Philip Rivers Added To Trade Block

Andrew Luck, via his agent Will Wilson, announced his intent to return to football Thursday morning. With two years remaining on his 6-year deal, and $25 million invested into new starting QB Philip Rivers, the Colts organization found themselves in an odd situation. When asked about the position moving forward, Colts head coach Frank Reich said; “I’ve always had a strong connection, and a lot of admiration for Phil[ip Rivers], but, we can’t let Andrew [Luck] slip away from us in his prime.” In a shocking move, GM Ballard, placed Rivers on the trade block and has already received interest from multiple teams. “We just don’t want [Rivers] going somewhere within the division. But, everything else is on the table” commented Ballard when asked about the veteran signal caller’s future with the franchise. Luck may have spent the last two years watching football from the couch, but, he is the team’s presumed starter going into their Week 7 matchup against the Detroit Lions.
